Tips for Grant Applications

  • Before applying for funding, check the guidelines of the relevant program to ensure your project is eligible.
  • Read the guidelines and application form carefully to make sure all the information is understood and available.
  • Plan your application - a well thought out and written application will be better received.
  • Demonstrate the need or demand for the project and highlight who will be impacted upon and who will benefit.
  • Check the guidelines to determine if any supporting documentation is required.
  • Include letters of support from as many different sources as possible. e.g. Principal, community representatives, local members of parliament.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again!

  • Review your application- can it be changed to improve your chances.?
  • Look at other possible funding sources. Maybe there are some you haven't yet explored.
