About Us

The Parents Council was formed in 2003 to provide an effective voice for the parents of students in independent schools. It continues to achieve this through its membership of P & F Associations and individual parents of independent schools.

The Council makes an active contribution to ensuring that the interests of parents are advocated in education.

The Council works closely with the Association of Independent Schools of Queensland and with the other parent representative bodies.

Membership of the Parents Council is open is all independent school P & F Associations, parents of students attending independent schools, and other interested parties, on application.The Council is governed by the Management Committee.


The Management Committee currently comprises:

President - Dianne Caulfield – Moreton Bay College
Vice President and Immediate Past-President - Graham Hedges – Faith Lutheran College, Redlands
Secretary - Fleur Creed - Australian Christian College Moreton
Treasurer - Jayne Murdoch - Hillbrook Anglican School

State Committee Meetings are held once per term, with the Annual General Meeting held in term 4. All financial members are welcome to attend these meetings, which are usually held at 96 Warren St, Spring Hill, but please notify the Executive Officer of your intention, as the location may vary due to school P&F requests.
